Pros: Works well if you CLEAN your hair first with clarifying shampoo.
Cons: Will make hair greasy if you don't have a clarifying shampoo.
I have naturally brown curly hair which I do not dye or process on any level. The only thing I do on occasion, is give it a henna treatment which helps pro-long the life of my hair. Since my hair is naturally curly, it appears thick, but is actually very thin and can brittle and break easily thus resulting in painful tangles.
WHY I BOUGHT IT:
To help prevent breakage and detangle as needed. To pro-long the life of my hair so that I can grow it out without having to cut it too often.
WHAT IT DOES:
A conditioning hair mask to rehabilitate extra dry or over-processed hair with intense moisturization.
HOW TO USE:
My own personal experience has taught me that if I am not careful, this can make my oil very heavy and oily. It is very IMPORTANT to first completely wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo first. I use Lanza Deep Cleansing Shampoo with this. If you do not have a clarifying shampoo, then wash your hair at least twice before using this treatment. When washing your hair, be sure to scrub your scalp with your nails and rinse completely. After shampooing, apply a small amount of mask to wet hair, concentrating on the ends. Let it penetrate for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse well with luke-warm water. Avoid scalding hot water.
WHY I LIKE IT:
Protects my hair longer, I do not have to get a hair-cut as often.
My hair feels softer and shinier.
My scalp feels soothes and any itchiness I may have had is gone.
Has a nice almond smell, not overpowering.
Actually lasts through the week if I use it correctly.
Soft creamy texture, not at all waxy or oily.
Concentrated, you don't need to use very much. One jar will last you a long time.
Does not cause frizzing like some moisturizers do.
Noticeable shininess and smoothness.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
Will make hair greasy if you try to use for regular conditioning.
Takes a while to rinse, must let it rinse for a good 5-6 minutes.
Will weigh hair down slightly, but since I have curly hair - it is not an issue for me.
