Pros: comfort, style, safety, sturdy build.
Cons: The backs bend if you do not untie your shoes before putting them back on.
The Bottom Line: I recommend these shoes for anyone with high arches for fat/ thick feet who have trouble finding shoes that fit right.

New Balance 761
Who should not wear these shoes:
I have been a runner since I started seventh grade. I competed in track and cross-country (long distance) through Jr. High and High School and one year in college. My feet used to be thin and I used to have high arches, but from all the running I've done my feet have become wide and flat with fallen arches.
I tried New Balance shoes a couple years ago and because of my flat feet the shape of the shoe makes them painful for me to wear. Instead of support in the arch (inside of the foot) there is more support next to the arch on the outside side of the foot. I couldn't wear these shoes more than a few minutes without pain on the outside of my foot, New Balance shoes caused too much pressure on that point of my foot.
Who should wear these shoes:
My husband, on the other hand, has high arches and wide feet. I bought him New Balance 761 shoes a few months ago and he loves them. He wears them all the time and they still look new.
The Build:
New Balance 761 shoes have a lot of cushion for the soles of the feet and are flexible. These shoes are lined with terrycloth so it makes them more comfortable with minimal rubbing. My husband has never gotten a blister from New Balance 761 shoes. The soles of the shoes are thick and sturdy. The heels are thicker than the front angling the foot to run more easily on the balls of the feet.
Safety:
New Balance 761 shoes have reflecting fabrics built into the exterior for night walking/ running. They are not visible during the day so the shoes do not look cheesy.
The Look:
These shoes look good with sports wear (shorts or pants) and also look good with jeans and a nice shirt. Though, I would not recommend wearing them with a suit.
The Only Con:
The back of the shoe bends and stays bent if you do not untie your shoes before putting them back on.
Recommendation:
I recommend these shoes for anyone with high arches or fat feet who have trouble finding shoes that fit right.
