| vcarbonell's Full Review: New Balance 761 |
New Balance has always made extremely well-made and high-quality running shoes for the serious runner. Now their style is becomming mainstream and people who buy running shoes just for looks are tuning in to the new trend. But the shoes are still designed for hard core athletes. The 761 is comes in great colors and is very fashionable, but you'll immediately notice the attention to detail. It's very comfortable and light so you'll think your walking on air. I've worn dozens of pairs of running shoes: Nike, Addidas, Asics, New Balance––all are very good, but for different reasons. The New Balance shoes are consistently sturdier and the stitching is less likely to fall apart. Buy them from Road Runner Sports catalogue and you'll get unparalleled customer service, too. Here's the deal with the 761: they're a light trainer, so they're a bit "squishy." If you just want them for light exersize or everyday wear, they're great. However, if you're heavy set and really "pound" when you jog, you might look for a shoe with more stability and a harder rubber outersole. I would recommend the NB 781, which are less stylish but an all-around trooper.
