I have a fetish for running shoes. Nike, New Balance, Reeboks, Brooks...I've tried them all. I always get caught up in the colorfulness of Nikes, but end up not liking the shoe because of the poor fit. You want a shoe that performs yet looks stylish. New Balance has made great strides in the appearance of their products. Overall, I believe the best bargain for the money is New Balance. Let me first say I am not your typical runner. My spine is fused with metal rods so I have to be particularly careful with what I buy because I need the additional support. These New Balances are extremely comfortable and well conformed to the foot. They also have superior cushioning. If you've tried the gamut of shoes, you always seem to find one thing that bothers you. The 761's are the one pair that I absolutely love even though they are getting old and worn (time for a new pair!). I wouldn't change a thing from the styling to the functionability of the shoe. If you are looking for a great fit and support RUN out and pick yourself up a pair today!
