Each Major League Baseball team has a minimum of three caps:
1. Regular Game Fitted Cap. This is the number one, official cap, the one you see most teams wear the majority of the time, the classic. The classic NY Yankees hat, fits this mold.
2. Alternate fitted authentic cap, this is the road cap, or Sunday cap. This the team wears occasionally, usually different colors, sometimes worn on the road, sometimes on Sundays or special days. The Milwaukee Brewers have a Sunday retro fitted logo hat.
3. Most teams also have a third hat, a unique BP or Batting practice hat. This cap, obviously, is worn during pre-game batting practice and spring training games. These are the newest innovation, and my favorite.
New Era is the official cap company for Major League Baseball, and all of their Authentic BP Caps are their 3930 models. These caps are 100% polyester, with the patented A-Flex system, giving stretch along the band both sideways for comfort and length to keep on your head. It makes this hat, simply, the most comfortable this dome of chrome has ever worn.
The Authentic Colletion Performance BP Cap is a great, simply unique way of wearing an official cap of your favorite team, and most people do not have one! Its an official way of showing support for MLB and your favorite team.
With the Minnesota Twins cap, it is a classic. The red bill, navy blue crown, red top button and the classic TC logo (Twin Cities) makes this cap a winner. It brings back memories of the Old Met in Bloomington, Harmon Killebrew and the great teams of the 60's and 70's. The 100% polyester makes the cap easy to care for, can be packed easily, durable, the subtle crown and style makes it the ultimate for a good looking convenient cap.
The cap features the White "T" with the red interlocking "C". The embroidery is heavy duty and meticulous, up to 31,000 stitches, according to New Era. The crown lining is covered, to help keep the hat cool and sweat from staining the crown.
The cap is made of the patented "Flex-Fit" style, with performance mesh, for true comfort a breathable wear, game or casual wear. The lower crown profile is unique, bringing accent to the TC logo. The lower crown adds to the comfort fit.
Fitting and sizing of the New Era cap is exceptional. With the flex fit, the sizing goes:
Small to medium: 6 1/2- 7 1/8
Medium to Large: 7 1/8-7 3/4
Large to Extra Large: 7 5/8- 8
Sizes of this cap fit everyone, if unsure, buy large. The medium to large fits my 10 year old, while the XL is fine for me!
Bad news: While prices on the internet range from $29.99 to $20.99 for the same cap. At the store, it was marked down to $19.99 which means the style-color-model will change for next season. The retailer does not want to be stuck with old merchandise so they get a "heads-up" from New Era about the changes. It could also mean the end of a season close out, but usually, outside of a couple bucks, these hats can be put away for next spring. We shall see.
Regardless, the Minnesota Twins Authentic Collection Performance BP Cap is a classic logo hat, comfortable beyond compare. It is a great fit, unique to baseball fans.
