Pros: Forms a protective barrier, but allows the wound to breathe and heal.
Cons: Has a somewhat strong, pungent odor.
I recently had a severe cut to my thumb as a result of an accident on a table saw. It was cut to the bone and required several sutures. The cut removed a pretty good bit of "meat" from my thumb. After the stitches were removed, I started a saline solution treatment and kept the wound covered while I was at work. I removed the bandages at night to let it "air" but, every time I bumped it, I would agonize in pain and it just did not seem to be healing. I decided to try New Skin liquid bandage at night to help protect it. It stung a little, as with any anitseptic and it does have a strong odor. However, within two days, I could tell a drastic difference in the healing process and it protected my wound from "bumps in the night". I would recommend this product to anybody, it works great!! I have used this product on my son's cuts and scrapes, also on blisters that I have incurred while being an avid bowler (my wife as well). Contrary to some reviews, I have never had to utilize finger nail polish remover to remove New Skin from any of my wounds. I just simply peel it off and apply a fresh coat when needed. It can be applied over an existing coat for added protection. This stuff is simply amazing! One bottle containing just .3 fl. oz. goes a LONG way! I will continue to use this product for myself and my family!!
