First brewed in 1927, after several years of development, Newcastle Brown Ale would come to be known as the brown beer with the Blue Star on its label. Newcastle originated as a working class beer from England’s North East and has been winning awards since its inception. This Newcastle-upon-Tyne beer was celebrated amongst the workers of the shipbuilding, mining and steel industries. One must appreciate a beer with heritage.
Today, Newcastle is the number one selling bottled beer in the United Kingdom. It’s no wonder why, most people are often hooked within the first cold sip. Served on draft, at a modest pub cellar temperature of 55 degrees, the first full-bodied mouthful of this aromatic malt tingles your taste buds. This beer is a hearty mouthful, going down smooth, it will have you longing for more.
This is the type of beverage treat that you are more than likely to be introduced to in the form of a neighborly six-pack or over a nice, long cold pint at a British pub over a game of darts - unless you are a beer connoisseur. But if that was the case you would have found this drinkable gem long ago.
Newcastle is smooth and clean from the first sip to the last gulp. This is a great beer to enjoy with a bucket of chicken wings and other assorted greasy fare, such as, pizza or my favorite - a crock pot full of honey-flavored, barbecue sauce bathed, little smokies. Mmm . . .
Enjoy this thick, hearty, full-bodied brown brew and feel free to take the rest of the week off. Goes great with a smorgasbord of greasy foods, pork rinds included.
