Let's just say I enjoy buying new hair care products for my naturally dry, fragile, wavy hair. Okay, I LOVE buying hair care products because I do love my hair. Except, of course, when it became dull & drab and a pain in the rear. I realized then that I had tons of buildup, and also, I realized that I have hard water. Wow, two things that are REALLY bad for your hair & scalp environment! This, of course, I didnt like at all. That is when I started my search for a great clarifying shampoo that won't strip all of my hair's moisture up and leave it a tangled mess (as some really awful clarifiers can do). Always liking Nexxus, I read the ingredients and purchased their clarifying shampoo, Aloe Rid. Well, the Aloe part of the name sounded good, but RID? Oh well, thats besides the point, I just hoped it would live up to its claims on the pretty little squeezy bottle.
With that, I wet my hair until it was drenched wet, and squeezed a nice sized quarter of a dollop for my long hair down to my shoulder blades, and massaged it in my hair and scalp and let it sit for about 2 minutes. I then rinsed with warm water and immediately noticed my hair feeling lighter, clean but NOT dry, it felt silky smooth and my scalp seemed to breathe a sigh of relief! My hair did NOT tangle, which was a huge suprise to me, and after conditioning with Nexxus Humectress (only for the hair at my ear and downward), my hair felt refreshed and without any more residue. I combed like I normally do when my hair was wet gently and did not find any tangles and my hair felt smooth & supple. When my hair was dry, it felt lighter, smoother, and was MUCH shinier!! No longer did I have dull hair, it just needed some good clarifying and it didnt blow my budget, either.

First off, I bought the 5 oz version, which is in an upside down squeezy bottle that looks just as nice as the normal bottle but in a different form. The flip top lid easy flips and the shampoo easily flows out.

The price for my 5 oz was about $5.95 and I think its a great deal, especially since I will only use it once a week to clarify!
I got it at beauty brands, a place that is a salon/store dedicated to salon beauty products at better prices.
~*~Consistency of Shampoo ~*~
Aloe Rid is actually a light gel-like consistency and has a medium lather to it. It actually looks like aloe gel, one of the key ingredients in it as well. It has a light, clean smelling aloe/mint sorta smell thats veryyyy light and doesnt linger at all.

Yeah, its made for product junkies like me, but also for those that use chemicals in their hair, go through environmental damage (such as living in a place with high levels of smog), those that swim in chlorinated pools or even those with hard water. Anyone could benefit from this gentle and thorough cleanser and I would advise to only use it once a week to remove all of the unnecessary things out of your hair to leave it more beautiful than ever!
