As someone who wears glasses nearly full-time, I can't stand when they get dirty, smudgy, greasy, or in any way less than pristine.  I was always wiping my glasses with whatever I could find - shirtsleeves, paper towels, even an occasional linty tissue.  But none of those are great at cleaning glasses, and some can even be harmful, causing small scratches.

After spending a fortune of new glasses last year, I decided to make an effort to take better care of them.  Thus I purchased Zeiss Lens Cloths.  They're certainly cheap enough.  50 single-use cloths come in the box, for around $4 at Walmart. 

And they're super-easy to use.  Simply tear open the package and remove the pre-moistened cloth.  The directions say to use the folded cloth to remove dirt and grit, then unfold the cloth to give the lenses an extra cleaning.  It's not really how I would intuitively use such cloths (my first inclination would be to unfold the cloth first, then use it).  But I have to say that following the manufacturer's directions, this product really does a nice job.

I'm pleased to say that these work really well.  After I use them, my glasses seem to be perfectly clear.  Even holding them up to a light reveals very little by way of imperfections on the lenses.  There are no streaks - just nice, clean lenses.  I've used these wipes on my distance glasses, my reading glasses, my sunglasses, and, yes, even my computer monitor.  In all cases, I'm pleased with the results.

At only around 2" square, these little packets are certainly easy to carry around, and store.  I keep a few in my purse and in my car.  One slight complaint: they come in strips of three packets each.  So two out of three times you actually have to separate a packet from the strip.  I find this a nuisance.  I wish the box simply contained separate packets, instead of strips.  I suppose they do this to help keep the packets neat and organized, but I find it less convenient.

The cloths also dry out amazingly fast, once opened.  So make sure you're ready to use them, the second you open them.  I suppose they're designed this way on purpose, so that you can use the dried-out cloth to dry your lenses after cleaning them.  Still, I'm always surprised at just how quickly they dry out.  On the other hand, like I stated earlier, they do a great job, so it's hard to really complain.

The only ingredient listed is Isopropyl alcohol.  The directions state that they can be used for any lens, including camera lenses.  As well as computer screens, binoculars, and goggles.

I'm just happy that such an easy to use, inexpensive product leaves my glasses clean & clear.
