Bev,

What an amazing accomplishment and no one understands this except those who are addicted to smoking.

I will look for the two brands you listed, but I haven't seen them. The brand I am using is also making me itch and red and a rash. I understand exactly that you couldn't take it.

Very proud of you and know what you went thru by quitting.

Quitting sure isn't easy (reformed smoker here - 13 1/2 years) but it's well worth it down the line.

I can't tell you that the cravings go away, although I think it's more conditioning that stays behind. Whenever I am stuck in traffic, a cigarette sure sounds real good.

Best wishes,
Patti

......Way to go!!!

Even after over three years off of smokes every once in a while I reach for the pack. Weird huh? I won't touch one, because I know me well enough to know I'd be right back where I was in no time at all.

Good for you Bev...Standing Ovation!!! ...kath

Including from me -- good on you to stop. If all smokers knew how loved this sort of quitting would make them, they might quit a lot faster. Also a nice product writeup.

best,

I give you a lot of credit for doing this.... (Reply to this comment)

...with or without patches. I'm told that nicotine is the most addictive drug there is (legal or illegal). Considering that, you should feel a sense of great accomplishment to overcome something so strong. (Guess you're stronger.) You also wrote a thorough and helpful review.

Keep up your resolve to "stay quit". Your health will be the best result.

To quit is a MAJOR accomplishment. Now, if I can only convince my mother...

and keep doing whatever you need to do to stay smoke-free. I quit 6 years ago using Zyban and never felt better. This was sure much harder than giving up booze.

I think I smoked for 15 or 16 years and quit in 1995. When my oldest was a few months old I would be standing outside smoking and when I moved I just stopped altogether cold turkey. Well I went to stay at my parents and was pregnant again so it was easy the second time.

First pregnancy the ex was there off and on and smoking was minimal but I remember going to the hospital and saying I wanted to go outside for one last puff and I could not.

Congrats and continued success

I only had a craving recently because of some issues I am facing and thought about a cigarette.
