I got these shoes on sale for only $39.99 from I think $95.00 or around there. I had always wanted to own a pair ever since I first saw them, but the price kept me away. I thought: why pay 90 dollars for a pair of slippers?
Well, I paid 40 dollars for a pair of slippers- except they are actually running shoes! Or maybe they are socks?
I mainly wanted these shoes because I am going on a cruise later on, and I thought that these would make the perfect shoe to lounge around in. Then I figured out they can offer so much more!...
APPEARANCE
These shoes have such a cool look to them. No other shoe manufacturer has made anything like it. There are no laces, and no zippers. They are made out of a stretchy material sorta like a bathing suit for your feet! They come in many different colours including bright yellow, or bright red, white, grey, pretty much something for everyone.
COMFORT
Ok, well from all the reviews I have read about this shoe, it seems to be an agreement that comfort is the factor that really makes this shoe special. When I first tried them on, it was like I stepped into a puddle of feathers. Walking and running around was like walking on pillows, and sitting around on the couch was like wearing socks! I still can not believe how comfy these shoes are, and WHY on earth haven't other shoe companies caught on?
The shoes are extremely light-wieght. When I took them home in the box, I had to check to make sure I was not taking home an empty box!
DESIGN
On the heel of each shoe there is sort of like a fin coming out of the sole, like an extension of the sole. It is only about 1.5 centimeteres, but I couldn't figure out why it was there, until... I was taking off my Nike Prestos by sort of kicking them of by the heel- think about how you take off your shoes most of the time- and those little fin things came in real handy! You just kind of step on the little fin and kick off your shoes instead of kicking them off by the heel and causeing wear and tear on the shoe. It is such a great idea.
The shoe is also very flexible, which is good for running, and also just for lounging around the house in if you need to do some chores, etc.
The grip on the bottom could be a bit better, but these are definitly summer shoes, and shouldn't be used on slippery surfaces anyways. I think if the bottom had more tread, it would ruin the smooth, flowing appearance of the shoe.
AVAILABILITY
For some reason, there are many sports stores that do no sell Nike Prestos. You can buy them directly from Nike on-line, but I'm not sure what the price would be.
Bottom line is, these shoes are great for everything from bumming around in, walking, jogging, going to work, you could even make love while wearing these shoes!
