The Air Presto is currently available only through stores like Footlocker, Foot Action, or Eastbay. You can also purchase the Prestos from Nike's web site.
APPEARANCE
The Air Prestos come in an assortment of colors. There's at least one color combination that you'll find fitting for yourself. At first glance, these shoes look very much like a running shoe. You wonder if it's durable with the lack of any leather or synthetic leather material to house your feet. The stretchy-mesh material fits your foot like a custom-made glove. It also does a great job of ventilation so your foot doesn't roast during heavy activity.
SUPPORT
The support cage that houses the laces acts as the 'skeleton' of the shoe and provides the stability that you need in order to stride in confidence. Getting in and out of the Presto is quick. The pull-strap on the back of the shoe allows for easy slip-on access, while taking off the shoe can't get any easier.
CUSHIONING
The Air cushion for the heel gives most of the cushioning and the Phylon midsole provides the rest of your foot with a nice, soft landing. You can actually feel the difference even when you're walking in these shoes. It's a funny feeling not being able to really feel anything constricting the top of your foot. As stated in one of the advertisements for the Prestos, "...it's like a T-shirt for your feet." I've found this shoe to be the perfect shoe to wear to work. Although I can wear Nike slippers or sandals to work, I find that the Prestos are much more comfortable and better looking. The waffle tread gives you the traction you need for jogging and up to medium-speed running. You'll hardly notice you're even wearing them because they weigh less than 10 ounces!
SIZING
What sets the Air Prestos apart from other running shoes is that it's one of the only shoes on the market that come in XXS, XS, S, M, L, and XL sizes. How is this possible? If you take a good look at where your lower ankle would be, you'll notice that there's a v-shaped opening. The designers and engineers at Nike felt that this part of a running shoe is useless. Taking it out gave them an advantage: unique sizing capabilities, as well as lighter weight and comfort. The heel of the shoe is adjustable to the size of the foot. For smaller feet, it pushes it forward and for larger feet it stretches back to accommodate. For example, I purchased a Medium (men's size 9 to 11) since I wear a size 9.5. I was afraid that it would be too big, but it actually fits very nicely. I also tried on a Small (men's size 7 to 9) and managed to fit into it, as well. Both sizes were quite comfortable, but I like wearing socks with my shoes, so I decided to purchase the mediums.
PRICE
The retail price of the Air Presto is $85. I'd say it's worth every penny due to extreme comfort and cushioning. If you're an avid runner, treat your feet to a pair of these. I'm sure you'll want to go out and buy a couple more pairs.
SUMMARY
It's been about a month I've had the Prestos. I've worn them as little as I could so I can keep them clean and new, but what's the point of saving your shoes, right? These shoes are quite possibly the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned and I'm planning on purchasing a couple more in a few months.
