Technical specifications...
The outersole of the Air Stormy Skylon Triax is composed of BRS1000 (Carbon Rubber) in the heel and Duralon (Blown Rubber) in the forefoot. Carbon rubber is a very durable material used in most running shoes. Duralon is very lightweight and cushiony but is less durable than carbon rubber. There is a visible Air-sole in the heel and a smaller Air-sole in the forefoot. The two Air-soles are encased in a phylon (EVA) midsole. The upper of the Air Stormy Skylon Triax is made of a CLIMA-F.I.T / DRI-F.I.T combination. CLIMA-F.I.T. is Nike’s water-resistant material and DRI-F.I.T. is a material that removes sweat from your feet. Another variation is the Air Skylon Triax. The Air Skylon Triax has an identical midsole and outersole as the Air Stormy Skylon Triax. The upper is very breathable consisting of just a thin layer of mesh over most of the shoe.
Value...
At the Stormy Skylon Triax only costs about $5 more than the regular Air Skylon Triax. These two models deliver lightweight cushioning at a decent price.
Bottom Line...
The Air Skylon Triax is a good lightweight training shoe. For a higher price, better lightweight trainers can be found, but the Air Skylon Triax is the best in its price range. This model is ideal for a runner that likes the feel of the Air Skylon Triax but need more protection in the cold and wet weather. This shoe is excellent for beginning high school runners and it is good for experienced runners as well. The shoe will function best for a runner with a neutral stride. I would recommend this shoe to friends.
