Technical Specifications...
The Nike Air Terra Adaptable has bi directional lugs on its BRS1000 outersole for extra traction on uneven terrain. The lugs on the heel face forward for downhill traction, while the lugs on the forefoot face backward for uphill traction. BRS1000 is the name Nike uses for carbon rubber, a durable rubber used in most running shoes. The midsole is made of an interlocking polyurethane and phylon midsole. The polyurethane in the heel adds durability while the Air-sole adds cushioning. The phylon in the forefoot adds some lightweight cushion. The upper consists of a heavy mesh/ plastic/ synthetic leather combination.
Value...
The Nike Air Terra Adaptable at $75 is an average buy. The shoe is representative of Nike quality. I feel that that are better deals out there for serious runners.
Bottomline...
The Nike Air Terra Adaptable is an entry level shoe. The traction is good and it’s a rugged shoe but truthfully there are better options for serious runners. The midsole is also very stiff. I am also not too comfortable with a trail shoe that isn’t water proof.
