Pros: Sturdy shoe. Good for road running.
Cons: Not good for trail/beach running. Cushioning is average for heavy runners
The Bottom Line: I won't buy these shoes again based on their fit and average cushioning. A lighter person probably has better luck with them

I bought these shoes based on articles I read and my old running shoes (NB 827's) had been discontinued. I am a heavy runner (over 200lbs) and wanted a shoe with excellent cushioning. I ordered these shoes on line based on my previous running shoe size of 11 1/2. When I first put them on, I thought they felt pretty good but during the first mile, I realized they were too tight in the toe section. After washing them in cold water and letting them dry with my driver and 3 wood pushed all the way to the toe section, they felt better and stretched out. Even now, they feel weird when I first put them on but during the first mile, my feet feel good and I have never had a blister. I have run 135 miles on them now in the last 3 months and they have held up pretty good. I would definitely not recommend these for trail running. Where the Shox are by the heel is an open area that throws dirt, sand, whatever up on the back of your legs. Good for the road though. For the price I thought these shoes would be more comfortable. I have put alot of miles on them though and really haven't had any problems with them except for the initial tightness in the toes. I hope to get at least 500 miles on them before the Shox wear out.
