egale's Full Review: Nikon Travelite V (9x25) Binocular
I purchased these binoculars because of past experience with Nikon digital cameras. My experience with binoculars before these were always with cheap models by other manufacturers. I always complained it was hard to see through them and I had to close one eye and use the binocular as a telescope in order to get them to work at all. I needed a pair for theater, concerts and outdoor events that would not be bulky and would hopefully be nice to use so I decided to invest in a decent pair.
My choice was between 9x25 and 12x25 Travelites. Price wise, they were only a few dollars apart but the 12x25s were noticebly dimmer. With the added magnification, you lose brightness.
Well, I was not disappointed. These are easy to adjust and the view is bright and sharp and focused and clear. It is absolutely amazing. There is a diopter adjustment if you need it and the rubber eyecups roll down making viewing with eyeglasses a snap. The center focus control is smooth and precise. They fit into your hands nicely and have a real feel of quality.
Included in the box is a case which can attach to your belt, a neck strap, and caps for the eyepieces. It does not come with caps for the other end and I am not sure why. It would be nice if there were caps to protect both ends when not in use but for whatever reason, they decided not to include them.
They are priced at about $99. By my standards as I was used to $20 - $30 units, they are expensive but in the world of binoculars, these are very cheap. Some binoculars can run into the thousands! So at $99, they are really a bargin.
