I bought the S52c to replace my S51c, which I lost out of my unzippered backpack. The first thing I noticed was that the power adapters were not compatible. Strange, seeing as they are very similar models. Not a huge deal since the camera obviously came with one. An odd thing about the power cords on both of these cameras is that they are about twelve feet long. Makes it a little bulky when you roll it up for travel.

The main reason I bought this camera was for the wi-fi feature. The camera has a built-in wireless adapter that will allow it to connect to 802.11b/g wireless networks so that you can transfer photographs to the MyPicturetown.com Nikon website. For about three bucks a month you get twenty gigabytes of storage (2 GB for free accounts) of your photos and movies. It's convenient and fairly easy to upload and manage your content on the Nikon site. There is no other option for where the photos are uploaded to. There is a feature on the camera to select to email the photo to someone. What actually happens is that the photo is uploaded to MyPicturetown, and the recipient is sent an email with a link to the photo.
The photos taken with this camera are of decent quality. There are the requisite red-eye problems with flash pictures, which is normal for a camera of this form factor.
The menus are reasonably intuitive. Setting up the wi-fi passkey is a bit cumbersome and selecting the letters, numbers and symbols you want takes a bit of getting used to. Some of the other features are similarly cumbersome. Once I got used to them (which took a little while) I didn't have any trouble remembering how to do what I need to do, be it selecting a flash mode or uploading a single picture or a whole batch.
One of my favorite features of this camera is that when you plug in the power adapter, it will automatically start wirelessly uploading all new photos.
