| meis14's Full Review: Nikon N80 QD Body Only 35mm Film Camera |
As a beginner, I was fortunate enough to use a Nikon N50. This camera was way ahead of its time, and had all the features that a beginner would want. Soon Nikon rolled out it's new N80, and I fell in love.
First of all, the camera is beautiful. The interface is so user friendly that it grows WITH you. As with all Nikons, this camera is compatible with ALL Nikon and Nikkor lenses. This is great since I have a variety of manual and auto focus, zoom, tele, and wide angle lenses. The lens mount is a piece of solid metal - Great for the user who "drops" his or her camera from time to time.
Nikons have a history of being the "Mercedes" of cameras. They are all produced to the highest quality. The optics (even on their lower-level cameras) are superb, as are their mechanics. My ONLY complaint with this camera is that although the body appears to be rugged, it is not as sturdy as a F5 (for example) because of a semi-plastic housing.
