Cons: If you didn't enjoy the first Super Smash Bros., you won't like this one more.

The frantic, fun filled frenzy known as Super Smash Bros. Melee was a hit, literally. As soon as I bought this digital masterpiece, I knew I would be hooked. Taking all your favorite Nintendo characters and spitting them into an arena was an ingenious fact, and Nintendo knew it. Not only did Super Smash Bros. Melee bring back classic characters, they reintroduced nostalgia-based stages. The sound was another success. The details to not only the music in the stage, but to your character's sounds were unrivaled. The graphics for that time were also outstanding. Also returning to the fray were some classic items as well, such as Super Mushrooms to Poke Balls.
A unique feature that most games-not only GameCube-don't carry is that all the control buttons have a function. It's also incredible for its options and customizations. You could switch between all sound and no music, or all music and no sound. You can even decide detailed item descriptions deciding which items you want to appear, where , and when.
However, there is one major punch this game took. I would've really appreciated it a lot more if you could have reply value, such as watching your matches over, being able to change the camera, rewind, fast-forward, pause, that sort of stuff. What if you did something absolutely incredible in a match, but can't see it again? That's the only downside this game has to it.
Still, this is a must-have game for all fighting-type game lovers. If you're mad at somebody, challenge them to a match. It's a very effective way to seize revenge.
