Pros:Easy setup, fun to use, and is conveniently sized to take up little space
Cons:Game selection and price
The Bottom Line: I haven't played the competitor, XBox 360 Kinect, but I would say that either video game console would be a fine choice.
My favorite gaming system to date, even though I'm not a big gamer. I believe I received the Nintendo Wii on December 25, 2007, when it was brand new and flooding with popularity. Of course, it is still popular today... just not as much because it's being overshadowed by other gaming systems. Also, the price was a bit much compared to nowadays. For the first year, the Nintendo Wii was practically attached to my hip. I would come home and run straight downstairs to start playing - whether it was by myself or with a group of friends and family. Then, like all other video game consoles, I didn't lay a finger on my Nintendo Wii for years because I grew tired of it. On December 25, 2011 though, my niece brought over Just Dance 2 and I was hooked once again. It really all depends on how you use the Nintendo Wii. That's when you really begin to experience the fun. The accuracy is a tad bit off, but that can be overlooked because not all things can be perfect. It doesn't take a lot of space and it's still very modern-looking, despite all the changes and "upgrades" the Wii has had in recent years. The video game selection is fair, unless you're into first-person shooters, then the Wii is NOT for you. The Nintendo Wii was designed to get people off the couch and interact with other family members instead of mindlessly staring at a screen for hours. It was designed to get us up and moving, and I believe it's done its job. Yet, it hasn't done a thing to decrease any obesity or overweight citizens of America (If that was its goal). Nonetheless, on a scale of 1-10, I would rate the Nintendo Wii White Console an 8.
