The Wii Fit package needs to be split into the two items that it comes with, the Wii Balance Board, and the Wii Fit software. That being said, you should be able to see what is coming.
I'll start out on the Wii Fit software. The package has a couple of yoga poses, some mini games, and weight/BMI tracking. While the balance board can track your balance for how you are doing the poses, if it is your sole reason to get the game, you may be better off researching some yoga DVDs, and getting them. The mini games are a mixed bag, some are fun (Ski Jump, Slalom) while others border on tedious (Tightrope Walk, Running), but the thing that they all have in common is they they get old, fast. Much like Wii Sports and Wii Play, there's not much to them. With the weight and BMI tracking, since if you're reading this, you're very likely to have a computer, you can do the same tracking with a spreadsheet (Open Office is free), a bathroom scale, and the BMI calculator. All it takes is a little discipline to track it this way.
The balance board on the other hand, is a controller that brings new life into some other Wii games. Skate It and Shaun White Road trip are both board sport games that take advantage of the board and incorporate it into gameplay for a much more enriching experience. Also We Ski does it as well, but I can't speak for the experience. Also other games that one wouldn't think would be controlled by the balance board also incorporate it. Tetris Party includes a mode where the blocks are controlled by balance actions, and the play feels like a mini game that should have been included with Wii Fit.
