Pros:Great fun for the whole family, many different games and levels.
Cons:Only play multi-player by going back to the main menu and picking another Mi Avatar.
The Bottom Line: For the price, it's a great raining/winter day activity for the entire family.
When you first use Wii Fit, it figures out your body mass index (BMI) and weight and the you can enter what you'd like your ideal BMI or weight to be and when you'd like to get there. Also gives various graphs enabling you to follow your progress. You can store this info under your Mi (your profile - you can design your person in so many different ways, the possibilities are endless!) and it will track your progress daily and overall. I have had the Wii Fit plus with balance board for over two years and it's been tracking my information for the entire time. It also tells me how many days since my last update. And by the way, you can add the weights of your family dog or cat, too, and give make them a customized Mi.
Wii fit activities range from Aerobic Exercise, Muscle Conditioning, Yoga Poses and Balance Games. You can pick a personalized training coach too that helps you with poses and reps when doing most of the exercises. It registers how many calories you've burned, too, which is great!
Where it gets fun - it's the games. My kids and I play all the time, whether it's for an hour or two or most of the day (yes, on cold winter days, nothing like it). Our favorites are the Obstacle course which helps with balance and timing. You run through each level of the course, which get progressively more difficult (like the one with the ice - careful of slipping and sliding!) Another is Kung Fu where you copy the actions of the Mi's around you. Then there's the Snowball fight. What makes this fun is that you aim and through snowballs at other Mi's. Tilt City is great too for balance and coordination. And try the Hula Hoop game - it's more exercise than you'd think!
The strengthing and yoga routines are great for moderately easy exercising. Each exercise tells you what it is doing for you whether it's toning your legs or strenghtening your lower body. This is useful if you'd like to concentrate on a certain area of your body. And the trainer works great here too - first giving you how to do it and then talking you through it. And you can string together exercises for a complete workout. No, it's not like going to the gym but it gets you going just the same.
