| kinezz's Full Review: Nivea Silky Shimmer Lotion |
I’ve got nothing bad to say about this product. I saw the advertisement in a magazine and had to try it. It’s summer and we all want to glow especially in the evenings while out and about. I’ll admit when it comes to shimmer I’m an addict, but not in that club kid big glitter sparkly kind of way. I prefer a subtle glow.
Nivea’s Shimmer Lotion does the trick, for about $8.00 per bottle, Nivea has created a fantastic product that delivers on two counts, the price is absolutely right and the golden shine is luminous.
The lotion bottle has a flip-up top dispenser, and the golden pearlized lotion smells rather pleasant, it’s very easy to apply. I find it’s better to use on dry skin. Just rub on as one would any moisturizer; I loved the golden glimmer it imparted. The lotion had the right amount of shine and none of the obvious glitter specs that one thinks of when looking at products to make you glow. I used the lotion on my arms, neck, shoulders, and legs and it looked great in evening light and not garish at all when in daylight. The lotion lasted all night when used on a big night out and didn't rub off on my clothing.
If you prefer a softer shine, just mix the shimmer lotion with an equal part of regular body lotion, this helps too if you want to conserve the stuff. Which is my main goal considering my friends all find it fascinating to use when visiting.
Bottom line: I’ll happily plunk down $8.00 versus the bronzing and shimmering products for the body that can retail for $30.00 and up (i.e. Kors, Nars, & Prescriptives). Don’t mistake me, I adore all those brands but my disposable income is limited. One word of caution don’t be surprised when you go to look for it at your local drugstore, I’ve recently purchased my second bottle and I had to go to two drugstores before I located the last bottle on the shelf at a local CVS.
