Pros: Can provide decent shimmer for a reasonable price.
Cons: Transfers color to clothes, shimmer can "bunch"
The Bottom Line: Recommended for those with medium to dark skin for that just right evening touch.

| romnotram's Full Review: Nivea Silky Shimmer Lotion |
Having used Nivea's skin firming lotion in the past, I was very excited about this product which included both the benefits of a top notch firming lotion and shimmer. The price per bottle was the same as the firming and so was the scent and consistency. The lotion appears tinted rather than white but blends into your skin color when applied. Note: a friend with fairer complection said that the lotion left marks on her skin. With medium toned skin, I did not have this problem.
The shimmer effect is very subtle and appears as little flecks of gold in your skin. I did notice that the tinted color did rub off on a blouse of mine (luckily it was the inside), however, I didn't give the lotion much time to set. Also, during the course of a party where there was much handshaking, hugging and leg crossing I noticed that the shimmer crystals made their way to the natural folds in my skin suck as the bend of my arm. Therefore by the end of the party I had all this glittery stuff bunched up in my arms. Further, as I placed my hands on my knees as I crossed my legs or when I placed them on my biceps as I crossed my arms, I noticed that the shimmer did rub off into the insides of my palms.
I wouldn't use this as an everyday lotion, but I'd use it for special occasions particularly in the evening and in dry conditions. Compared to boutique and department store shimmer lotions such as Michael Kors leg shimmer, this product gives ample coverage at a good price.
