| serc's Full Review: Nivea Visage Q10 Plus Wrinkle Control Night Creme |
A few weeks ago, I ran out of my usual night-time moisturizer (Oil of Olay Firming Cream, if you must know). I looked through my coupon box and found $2.00 of any NIVEA Visage product. Having enjoyed this brand's cleanser and toner, I thought I'd give the Night Creme a try.
The full title of this product appears to be NIVEA Visage Coenzyme Q10plus Wrinkle Control Night Creme. (Say that 3 times fast!) It comes in a heavy blue glass jar and contains 1.7 ounces (3 grams) of the cream. The product itself is a dense white cream with a scent that suggests that it wants to be unscented; the packaging mentions no fragrance and it smells very mild and sort of like cold cream.
According to the directions, you should smooth the cream over your face after your cleansing and toning routine. It does state that the product is "perfect alone or under makeup," so apparently you could use this as a daytime moisturizer as well. I wouldn't recommend that myself, as it contains no Sun Protection Factor, and I think the thickness of the cream lends itself better to night-time usage.
I use the NIVEA Visage night creme every night, after cleansing and toning. I apply a small amount on my face and neck; I find that it absorbs well for such a rich cream. I do not use it around my eyes, as I use a separate eye cream for that area.
Looking on the packaging for this product, I find this claim: "within 4 weeks, the appearance of lines and wrinkles are visibily reduced." (It does also say that "actual results may vary.") The product also says that it is dermatologist tested and that it won't clog your pores. I will have to believe them that their night cream is tested by a dermatologist; it's not like I have a way to prove or disprove that! As for clogging pores, I can only say that it does not clog my pores. A teenager with acne or a person with oily skin should probably still avoid a heavy night cream like this (but most people in this situation realize this intuitively). As for the question of lines and wrinkles being visibly reduced, it's a bit hard to say. I'm only 32, and my wrinkles and lines are still pretty minimal. I do think that it has improved the softness and moisture content of my skin in a noticeable way, however, and that is why I like the product so much. I don't really believe that I can totally avoid wrinkles (without surgery or Botox or both), but keeping it out of the sun and moisturized as much as possible is my basic strategy to keep my skin smooth.
I purchased my NIVEA Visage night creme at Target. The cost was $10.99, but again, I used a coupon and that brought the price down to $8.99. (I had two or three other NIVEA Visage coupons in my coupon box as well, so they do pop up frequently in the Sunday paper coupon supplement). Other local brick and mortar stores like KMart or Walgreens are also likely to carry the NIVEA Visage line. If you prefer to shop online, drugstore.com carries NIVEA Visage products. The current cost for the night cream is $10.69.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice my skin felt after using NIVEA Visage Night Creme. I don't have any complaints about it, and it has improved the texture of the skin on my face. If you're looking for a great night cream but you don't want to pay department store prices, you should give this one a try. 5 stars.
