| dkerman's Full Review: Nokia 252 Cell Phone |
I wanted to get a cell phone because I wanted to be able to communicate and be contacted by others while I am on the move. Now, my problem was that I didn't think I could afford a cell phone and the costs associated with upkeep of the phone. I went on the net and started to research the topic. First, I decided to get a Tracfone. Although Tracfone's are generally a rip-off in terms of cents/minute, but I could at least control my costs and discontinue the usage of my phone at any time.
So my search for a cellular phone was limited to only phones that supported Tracfone, and yes, the Nokia 252 was one of them. I went to Radio Shack the next day with the expectation to be pay around $50 for one, but boy was I surprised! The cost was $49.95, PLUS a $30 rebate! The phone only cost me $19! It was great.
This phone is compatible with Tracfone so that is a big plus. All in all, I am fairly pleased with the phone. I mean, it does exactly what I expected it to, and I have had no problems at all. Of course, it would be a little nicer if it was smaller, but hey, what do you expect for $19? It still does fit in the pocket of my pants, but I cannot put anything else in the pocket that is in (without looking like the Marshmallow man). The reception is fairly good, but it is an analog phone. It also has some nice little features like being able to store about 75 phone numbers, several different types of rings, ability to make it vibrate or ring (or both), able to adjust the volume of the dial tones, able to adjust the volume of the ringer, and so on. All, in all, I would recommend the phone to a college student like me.
