| XZeroBabyX's Full Review: Nokia 5160 Cell Phone |
When I finally got my car, my license, and my insurance all together so I could drive by myself, my parents decided I couldn't leave the house without a phone. So, since we only own two phones, I got moms phone.
The phone itself is adorable. It's small enough to fit in the palm of my hand, but big enough so that you don't have to scream because the receiver doesn't reach your mouth. The display is programmable- I have mine set to say my name and the number of the phone so I don't forget it. What a cheerleader.
Anyway- The one major downfall to this phone is the quality of sound- Now don't get me wrong, way back in the day when dirt was new we had an analog phone and that thing was a piece of dog mess compared to this phone. But the quality just isn't quality. My hair can get pretty wild at times and if I'm not careful and it goes anywhere near the antenna, the sound gets botched up and the other person gets the "Edited for a drive-through window" version of the conversation. I've also noticed that if you're near trees the service is similar to what hair does to it.
I'm not sure, but I think this model is one where you can buy face-plates. Other friends have the same model phone and they're great- one friend has a blue and black futuristic checker board pattern and another has shimmery orange. When I get my own phone, I'm planning on leopard print, purple, or green, whatever is available.
Plus, I'm not allowed to use the phone except to call home, so I keep it turned off most of the time- very rarely do I ever have to charge the battery. Even on the rare occasion that I DO have to charge it, it only takes it about 3 hours to be fully charged.
This is a great little phone for teenagers, as well as for a phone to have in the car in case of an emergency. I'd highly recommend it for anyone.
