| jeffs320's Full Review: Nokia 5160 Cell Phone |
When I switched from GTE Wireless to Cellular One, I needed a new phone (obviously). I had an older Nokia phone (can't remember the model number, but it was analogue and I got it for a $.01 when I opened my account with GTE) so when Cell One offered me the free 5160 with the service contract or asked if I wanted to purchase a different phone, I took the 5160.
I like all the features of the phone, which include caller ID (A life-Saver when the In-Laws are calling!), games (gotta love playing a video game on your cell phone), and I purchased the extra battery so it vibrates in Silent mode. That cost a small fortune, but it was definitely worth it to never miss important calls just because I am in a bar and can't hear the phone ringing.
The phone itself is small and lightweight, which is good, but it is not so small that I lose it (which is great - my wife buys the small, cute phones and loses them all the time). The reception isn't bad, but I have heard clearer phones.
The only thing I really don't like about the phone is the antennae. I don't like how there is an antennae there but it is fixed to the phone. Every time someone borrows my phone, the first thing they do is try to pull the antennae out, and I have had to get the phone fixed four times because of that. They should either have an antennae that can be extended, or they should have it flush with the phone so there is no mistaking that it does not pull out.
