| witchyangel's Full Review: Nokia 5160 Cell Phone |
The beginning of this year US Cellular was offering a 1,000 minute special and you get a free Nokia 5160 Cellular phone, phone charger, and one free face plate. My parents wanted to take advantage of this and renew their contracts with US Cellular so we went to town to the mall and did this.
I like having a smaller phone that fits nicely into my little backpack purse. My old Nokia phone was a pain and you had to pull out the antenna to get service and it was a bigger phone. This phone is pretty common and you can get alot of different face plates for this phone. This phone was designed so that you can change the face plate to match your outfits. I have two face plates for mine now. The face plates sell around $10-$25 a face plate.
It has a built in address book where you can store up to 100 names & numbers. It has redial feature in it, a built in voice message system(which I have never setup on mine) and you can play games on it that are programmed into the phone. Now all the other features are great, the games are a waste of battery time. I got a free car charger with mine that plugs into the cigeratte lighter of my car and a free ac/dc house charger. I prefer the house charger since the car charger does a quick charge and the quick charge doesn't last as long. It is great if you are on the road and your cell battery goes dead cause then in a few minutes you can start using the phone again.
I don't leave my phone on all the time so if I use the house charger my cell phone battery will last me at least a month. I turn off the phone when I am not using it. I don't recieve very many incomming calls on it unless i page someone and put in my cell #. I use it to save on long distance calls from my land line phone.
Now the phone is great but my provider which is US cellular is getting worse and worse in this area. One minutes I am roaming and the next minute I have digital service. Then sometimes I have to wait a long time in one spot just to get service. I know its not my phone cause other people in this area have the same phone but a different service provider and their phones work great.
I love knowing I have a cell phone around to use just in case I break down somewhere and need someone to help out. I use it to keep in touch with my family and customers. My family owns an alarm company so our phones get quite a work out. We use them to call each other then turn around and call our customers.
Between pagers & cell phones I am a well connected girl.
