| glitchTF's Full Review: Nokia 5160 Cell Phone |
My Nokia 5160 came free with my cellular contract. One of the reasons I signed up for the contract was when I saw the phone they were giving out with the plans.
I have had the phone for about 3 or 4 months now. I think the phone is sensational. The clarity of the phone is great. There are also numerous add-ons that can be purchased for the 5160.
The phone lets you check the last ten calls received, dialed, and missed. It also provides caller ID. The phone book lets you input 99 names, and allows for 1-touch dialing for up to 7 phone numbers. Voice mail is easy to access. There are also various other settings that can be changed.
The things I love about the phone the most are:
1) Customization. There are hundreds of new faces that one can buy to fit this phone, and they are not just basic colors either. Belt clips are available, vibrating batteries, new antennas, etc...
2) Call Lists. You can easily check missed calls, dialed, and received calls.
3) Size. The phone is small enough to not out-stretch a hand. Some phones are way too small, making it very difficult to dial the phone numbers to place a call. The 5160 is very convieient to take anywhere, and ease of dialing.
4) One-Touch dialing. You can enter 7 speed-dial numbers for easy access.
This phone also can Roam from coast to coast. It's very lightweight, and lighter batteries can also be purchased. There is also an extra slot for another antenna.
There are a few things I don't like about the 5160 though.
1) There is no "end" button. Send and end are functioned into one key.
2) No way to turn the light on without clearing the screen.
3) Ringer doesn't seem to be as loud as other phones.
I would suggest this phone to anyone. This goes from soccer-moms to business professionals. I think the phone can be used efficiently by anyone. I do not see a target market designed specifically to anyone.
