I've had this phone for a little over 2 years and have been completely satisfied. I only have two "negative" issues with it. First, the flip can be damaged if you are a rough or careless user. Of course, any flip phone has this issue. Once you become accustomed to having the flip, it's no problem.
Second, the accessory interface on the bottom of the unit isn't always useful. It's wonderful for desktop chargers and hands-free units in the car. However, when hanging on your belt/hip, having the bulky adapter plug into the bottom to use a headset just sucks. I've broken four of these so far. Thankfully, the phone wasn't damaged, so it could have been worse. I wish Nokia had a headset mini-plug on the top or side of their phone like the Motorola and others.
I have been using cell phones for about 18 years and this is the best one yet. It shares all the expected features of phones in it's class, but Nokia products have a look, feel, and performance that just screams quality. There isn't the "Fisher Price" look or feel like Erikkson or Samsung. They also don't have the "industrial, commercial" look of the Motorolas. Nokia is on the cutting edge....I mean they ARE the cutting edge of style and technology. This phone or any other in Nokia's lineup will make you happy.
Those of you thinking of this or any other phone need to keep a few things in mind while reading negative comments of ANY cell phone:
1) Reception and/or dropped calls are most always NOT because of the phone itself, but the service you choose.
2) Read ANY phone's literature and it will tell you - Battery standby/talk time depends on your service and signal strength. Most battery life stats are the maximum when used in a digital signal area. In other words: in a weak signal, analog area, or poor service situation, the phone has to "work harder" to receive the signal, therefore depleting the battery quicker.
3) ALL phones, home and mobile, will appear "hot" at the ear after holding it there for a lengthy conversation. Do not be so quick to judge the phone as faulty. Switch ears once in a while or use a headset/earpiece.
4) I know we all want to save money whenever possible, but avoid places like Target, Wal-Mart, etc. when getting crucial accessories for your phone. Specifically chargers. They have proprietary circuitry to properly condition and charge your battery. If you have a Nokia phone, get a Nokia charger for the best and safest results. Yes...batteries DO explode; that's not an urban legend.
