Those ring tones are only available for download if your cell phone provider enables that feature. Mine doesn't. I've asked. Thanks anyway. :(

The faceplates sound cool, but I don't think I'll bother. I LIKE the way this phone looks!

There's a way to send messages to people not on your service plan. I was able to send one to my husband's email address, which isn't on the network anywhere. I had to figure out how to do it, though, because it wasn't extremely obvious. (The directions may be in the manual, but I'm notorious for not reading manuals unless I must!) I tried the straight "send email", but it didn't work. So then I retrieved the message from the outbox and forwarded it. That worked!

One of the limitations on this might be the service plan.

I still haven't purchased a cell phone (despite the fact that I work at a wireless consulting company) but now that I know that they make phones in Scarlet and Gray, I better go out and get one!!

Thanks for a great review. Is it true that you can send email to any email address? I thought the Nokia 8260 can only do text messaging to other phones on your service plan?

Also, can you do any 'web' browsing with the phone!

Go Buckeyes!

So far, I've found this phone to be tough. I've dropped it 3 times from heights of about 3 or 4 feet. The first time (about 2 days after I got it), I freaked too. I was sure that it would fly apart into lots of pieces. (That's what my Ericsson did!) It didn't though. I just didn't mention it being tough because I think I need to drop it a few more times before I make my final decsion on that point!

I love my Nokia. (Reply to this comment)

I was letting my niece carry it out of the store the other day, she dropped it as she was walking and her foot kicked it. The phone went skittering across the parking lot and I freaked out. When I picked it up it had a couple of scratches but was still working perfectly.

Great review.
