| azukow01's Full Review: Nokia 9000i Cell Phone |
Have you seen The Jackal? Do you remember the phone that he used to communicate and store the addresses of his contacts. Yeah, Nokia 9000il will help you keep your contacts organized and make you look like 007. I hated the fact that I needed to use a Palm pilot for my contacts and calendar and the cell phone to talk. I hated no keyboard on my Palm. I found a solution in the communicator which is a combination of a cell phone and a 386 PC. It features it's own OS that is much more stable than windows, enough memory to hold your life in it, 4.75" X 1.5" display and full keyboard. The OS will allow you to phone, fax, send and receive SMS messages, access limited internet, mainframe, telnet and get your e-mail. It has a calendar with alarm and lots of other software that you can download. I'm able to get my VT100 terminal screen, perform simple tasks on Unix servers using telnet, browse stock prices and access corporate e-mail while sitting on a beach in Key West! Build in security will allow you to decide how paranoid you are about the information you store in the communicator. Phone uses SSL protocol to transmit information on a secure digital channel which will prevent your signal from being easily picked off. The data transfer with a computer needs improvement but the product is worth its sticker price of $699 and it's a great way to impress people.
