| Jacqlin82's Full Review: Nokia 918 Cell Phone |
Okay, I know the hype. Cell phones are cute, trendy, and they make you "somebody" in the world of movie stars and the "Clueless" era. This is what I was thinking last year when I got one for Christmas. Oh, I just wanted to be cool and have something not a lot of my other friends had.
I never thought that a cell phone would actually save my butt a few times. If I was supposed to be home at a certain time, I could always call my mom and explain to her that there was an accident on the road and that's why I was going to be a couple of minutes late. It was also convenient to call my friends a couple of minutes ahead of time and let them know I was coming over just as I pulled into their driveways. By that time they already had the door open for me. Rude? Maybe a little, but it was a great convenience on my part. No more pulling over to pay phones, I just picked up my cell and dialed the digits. And in case of an emergency (which I haven't used my phone for any of those yet), I will always be able to reach someone.
However, cell phones are not all sugar and spice. There is a bill that comes toward the middle of every month. To be quite honest, cell phones can be quite addictive and there are only so many free minutes with each plan. I learned my lesson though, I simply put the phone in my glove compartment, out of sight. Most of the time I forget I even have it with me and it really cuts down on the temptation of using it.
