Pros: Patented elliptical mechanism provided superior impactless exercise - if you survive the sloppy parts documentation.
Cons: Horrendously incompetent execution. Sloppy engineering of fasteners and missing, unnecessary and undocumented parts.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this and all Nordictrack products. Their lack of attention to detail combined with overpricing and over-promotion shows a company that puts image ahead of substance.

I just got this machine and tried to assemble it. It would take too long to explain my rationale, but something is broken at this company. There were missing parts, parts documented in the manual and provided but not used, and parts needed and provided but not documented. The "push nut" fasteners are loony engineering and shoddy workmanship, and they need a hammer which is never mentioned, and the cheap plastic "tool" provided broke; luckily I improvised with a metal sleeve.
In short, ludicrous sloppiness in executing a good concept - the hallmark of a worthless company that knows marketing and branding and overpricing and glamorous PR hype but glosses over the basic essence: the product. Since I paid only for the product and have to live with it for many years, I don't like companies that can't deliver simple but crucial parts.
I was hugely disappointed in this company - they screw up on the simple things and overprice in order to assert a better brand. Stay away from anything Nordictrack.
To add insult to injury, their ad claimed $600 off the $999 "list price", i.e. $399. However, the product is available routinely for $499, so I saved $100, not $600.
