Novaform Elite 2 inch thick Full-sized Memory Foam Mattress Topper.

Here, just writing another problematic review. Bought the full-sized "Elite" from Costco after having slept on an earlier thinner model at a friend's house which was "memorably" comfortable (tons of pun intended ;)...


So anyways, I have the uncompress issues with the one I bought. It's frustrating because I waited 5 days before giving up and putting it on my bed hoping that some nights of sleep and compression could force a "fight-back" action from the memory foam causing it to expand as it is supposed to. Well perhaps to some of you reader's surprise, this actually worked..halfway. The right side is about 80% fully expanded (so I'm forced to sleep on the right side of the bed) and the left side manages to be very problematic- bumpy yet also flat and just plain gross.

Apparently it is like flipping a coin with these things, buy if you're a gambler, the price is good compared to paying 100's upon 1000's for a name-brand mattress.

Overall I regret my purchase, because I was very excited to get it for my brand new place, yet the excitement has turned to disappointment in the long run. It took up the floorspace in my spare room for 5 days, not fun.

Oh, almost forgot, while I was CAREFULLY unfolding it upon opening it from the packaging, it made a 2 inch rip at one of the edges of the fold.

Update Sept 22, 2006: the right side of the topper has "expanded" slightly more to about 85% of its total thickness, perhaps in the very long run it will achieve 100% thickness, but alas the left side is completely hopeless and has the same problems. (I wake up several times in the middle of night when my girlfriend stays the night and I am forced to sleep on the left side).

Such a great idea and would be truly a steal if the consumer could be certain that their purchase would produce the results intended.
