| sojournseeker's Full Review: Now Foods Eucalyptus Oil 4 oz- Now Foods |
Now Natural Foods, Inc operating in Glendale Heights, Il serves its customers with an entire line of products that are available to relax, heal, calm, rejuvenate and relieve any major or minor discomfort affecting the nasal passages, skin, throat and even the mind !
In the company’s mission found at their website rather than on the products themselves, a customer can be assured the specific product they buy is REAL. I am always researching before buying so I may make the most cost-effective and product-quality decisions in any market.
“The NOW® mission is - To provide value in products and services that empower people to lead healthier lives. NOW Foods is an award-winning and highly respected manufacturer of vitamins, minerals, dietary supplements and natural foods.”(1) Eucalyptus Oil can be placed directly on the skin, unlike Tea Tree, because it is gentler and much less astringent; but it is more popular when poured into a cheesecloth and swirled around in a hot water soak experience ! The sweet-smell instead of a strong noxious smell is one that keeps this in the cabinet most often.
What is good about this product is that it can be mixed with a lanolin-based product to make a liniment that cab be rubbed into aching muscles or that deeply-congested chest now suffering from the cold you contacted from co-workers. Either inhaled directly off the skin or from the water, this product delivers relief !
Knowing this household thrives on natural products for all healthcare and personal bath and body needs, I found the bottle of 100% pure Eucalyptus oil in the bathroom. We add this, just a drop or two under the running water filling our bathtub, when cold and flu season is upon us. This oil works as good as Tea Tree but is much less expensive than. I have found in a comparative analyses between each that with this product, I do not feel over-loaded with a stingy feeling stuck in my nasal passages.
For your younger children, under twelve, one drop can do the trick for a little stuffy nose because it is gentler on the delicate mucous membranes. I found when my nephew had some irritating nasal problems, inhaling its healing property, made him feel better because breathing was freer, more natural not forced. There is freer acceptance of the vapors, less pinched-nose absorption, meaning you don’t mind inhaling it as much as you might the stronger Tea Tree Oil.
With only 4 ounces or 472 milliliters, you would think it won’t last long but believe me this is 100% potency therefore a fully concentrated oil of the Eucalyptus plant or more scientifically--Eucalyptus Globulus. On the bottle it states there is an 80-85% medicinal grade that is the highest grade made available to the public for sale over the counter. This does not require a prescription. The other 15-20% is the solid meaty portion of the plant rich in vitamins and minerals. There is a warning to KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN because this cannot be internally ingested.
As usual with any medicinal product an expiration date is on every bottle and I do recommend throwing down the drain any unused expired portion of the bottle if it has exceeded two years from when supposingly, ‘gone bad’. This being a 100% natural aromatic oil its properties can be lessened over time but it does have a shelf-life of five years nevertheless.
In most grocery or drugstores this product can be found at over $5.oo and closer to $12.oo per bottle, I paid $7.99 plus tax leaving me $1.10 change from a $10.oo bill--but it depends entirely on the retail outlet store and their policy on selling natural oils.
