Nutramigen helped clear out my baby's constant chest congestion that was caused by an allergy to other formulas and eventually landed him in the hospital for three days (that is how bad the congestion was). It also seems to help him spit up less (he usually spits up quite badly). The most important information I wanted to share is how to get Nutramigen for free. My son's pediatrician feels that Nutramigen is medically necessary for my son due to the congestion in his chest that he experiences when he is on other formulas. I expressed to her that I couldn't afford to buy Nutramigen and I didn't fit within the WIC guidelines to get it for free. So, not only did she get an authorization from the insurance company to pay for it, she also supplied us with 'samples' of 13oz. cans of powder until the authorization went through. I never thought that I would be able to keep the Nutramigen coming due to the price but now I have too much of it. Check into getting Nutramigen free if your child needs it. It is SO expensive yet so important. OH, I almost forgot. In between the doctor's appointments, when I was running out of Nutramigen and hadn't gotten any from the pediatrician yet, I wrote Mead Johnson and explained my situation and they sent me four 13 oz. cans of powder for free. Their address is: Mead Johnson Nutritionals 285 Country Club Drive, Stockbridge, GA 30281. Good luck!
