I enjoy watching our pug, Lulu, do her little dance of anticipation when it comes to meal time. She dances in circles with reckless abandon while I'm getting her dish of Nutro Max Mini Chunk kibble ready. This is an excellent kibble with natural ingredients and fortified with vitamins and minerals. It contains real chicken protein. This kibble is good for your dog and will actually help give her a shiny coat, with less shedding because the ingredients it contains promote healthy skin. The kibble digests easily, good to know for those that don't chew much (we won't name names!). Since the ingredients are higher quality than some brands, there is less 'clean-up' in the yard too.

This is the perfect size kibble for smaller dogs (or for dogs who prefer a small bite size). I know that Lulu doesn't bother to chew her food so much as gobble it down, and this works well for her since it is a smaller kibble.

INGREDIENTS: chicken meal, wheat flour, ground whole wheat, corn gluen meal, rice bran, poultry fat, ground rice, chicken, natural flavors, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, monosodium carbonate.

Nutro Max takes natural ingredients and fortifies them with the required vitamins and minerals, which really makes a difference in the finished product. Nutro Max is naturally preserved -- there are NO artificial preservatives like BHA, BHT or ethoxyquin. They do not add artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners either. Nutro Max uses whole grain wheat, wheat flour and rice. They never put any sorghum (which has a high sugar content), ground corn, whole grain corn, corn meal or corn grits, which can be more difficult to digest and cause your dog to poop more because it is just cheap filler for them.


Scientifically formulated with a winning combination of Omega-6, linoleic acid, Vitamin E and zinc, Nutro Max helps reduce dry, flaky skin and shedding. (Apparently, many brands contain less linoleic acid which is an essential part of your dog's diet because it provides fatty acids, also responsible for keeping the skin soft and adding luster to their fur.)


This Nutro Max kibble is almost exactly the size of a green pea, but these are a deep shade of burnt orange, almost perfectly round balls. My little game is to place one or two pieces of kibble on the floor while I'm scooping the rest into her dish. (I also mix a little canned food in to make a "gravy".)  Lulu gets to eat just one or two kibble pieces of the Nutro Max as her "appetizer". I have rarely seen her chew it though, I'm afraid. In her enthusiasm, it just seems to go straight down!

Nutro Max Mini Chunk dry kibble can be combined with any of the other Nutro Max canned formulas. For an added treat, for your furry friend, you can also buy Max Mini Bones or Steak Biscuits.


I purchase this Nutro Max Mini Chunk Dog Food at a couple of different places, including our independent pet store or at a Petco we have in town. It's definitely a middle of the road price, as far as kibble goes, but I know that Lulu is getting an excellent product that will help her continue to enjoy a healthy life, which is worth paying a little bit more for.
