In May we had the adventure of taking BabyGirl on a field trip with her class to a petting farm. During our visit BabyGirl fell in love and begged, pleaded, and asked Mrs. Farmer very politely if she could bring home the little black puppy with no hay on it that she discovered in the barn. After consulting with us, Mrs. Farmer informed BabyGirl that she could take home the little black puppy with no hay on it in six weeks, when it would be ready to leave the farm. BabyGirl went home counting the days, and we started planning for the new arrival. Purchasing dog toys and crates and snacks and food proved to be a daunting task, but we wanted to do it right and we researched and comparison shopped and finally felt that we had all the necessary items to make our new family member happy in his new home.
Hobbes is the name of the little black puppy with no hay on it, (as in Calvin & Hobbes), and hes a mixed breed, mother is a black Labrador retriever and father is unknown. (Although were pretty sure we know whom the unknown is, the Border collie on the neighbouring farm. The colour and markings have us pretty convinced.) The little black puppy wasnt so little anymore, but he was hay-free as promised by a laughing Mrs. Farmer, and we brought him home. We decided to try Nutro MAX Puppy Dry Dog Food after speaking with several dog owners, as well as several staff members of various pet stores. Well, we love that dog food and had no intention to change food at all, until I saw an offer for a free bag of Nutro Natural Choice Puppy Dry Dog Food! Im no fool, and a free bag of dog food sounds like a great deal to me, particularly when its a Nutro product, a name Im developing a loyal relationship with. So I brought our free bag of dogfood home to find out what Hobbes thought of it.

Hobbes, do you give this paws up or paws down?
Hobbes loves Nutro Natural Choice Puppy Dry Dog Food. Those small round bits and bites of food disappear faster than you can say Good Dog, and hes had no problem with digesting the food. Weve found the easy to digest claim to be true, and we have had no problems with clean-up when walking Hobbes. Nutro also provides clear, easy to understand feeding guidelines using age and weight on the packaging, as well as guidelines for lactating dogs, so you wont be over or underfeeding your dog. They suggest moistening and feeding regularly for small newborn puppies, serving the recommended amount in two or more meals a day, and also recommend that any diet changes should be gradual. Hobbes is quite happy with our choice of Nutro dog foods. Nutro claims Nutro Natural Choice Puppy Dry Dog Food will promote healthy skin and coat, as well as clear eyes and strong muscles. Our dog is growing bigger by the day, and hes a happy, energetic, and very lovable puppy with no sign of any health problems and definitely no lack of energy!
