We had an OKI OL400 for about 10 years. It worked well, except that the paper rollers must have been getting old, because the paper feed became erratic. Also, we could not find toner cartridges any more.

While shopping for a replacement, we knew we did not want an inkjet. We've seen an HP deskjet just eat up cartridges of ink while working as volunteers in a non-profit organization. We liked the foot print of the old OKI, and confirmed we did not have a need for color capability, so we were looking for something similar to our old reliable. We also liked the way you could easily stick in a piece of "re-cylced" paper into the manual feed tray to do a draft print, so we wanted to have something with that ability as well.
We are glad to have found the B4600. We've had it for about 4 months now and it has worked well ever since we unpacked it. I expect it will last another 10 years.
We could not find any brick & morter stores with anything like it, so we purchased it on-line. It costs a bit more than an inkjet, but the per page toner costs are much lower than feeding cartridges to an inkjet.
The online source only had this model in black. Once we got it and set it up, I actually liked that better, since it matches the laptop, sound components and other electronics in our work area.
