Obsessed with this story?

Pros: It was a sequel to a book that ended badly before...
Cons: Very short... you must buy the other books to get whole story.
The Bottom Line: It's a poor continuation of a novel that previously ended badly. Stay away from this obsession!

I picked this book on a rush library trip. Basically, I have two minutes before my boyfriend drags me out of the library. It was really short, and I thought it would be good on the bus while I go to work. Something quick, and easy.
What I didn't realize, is that it was the continuation to a novel that I thought had just ended badly. I was really upset, because the reason I thought the previous novel ended badly is that the main character died. I didn't assume this. It said that she saw the blood, blacked out, and died. So, when I started this novel, and found out that it wasn't even her, or that she got away (it never says.) I was very confused. On the other hand, I had liked her, so I was glad she wasn't dead!
I was also upset that a lady in the novel, who is a high priced call girl, starts dating this guy. She thinks he may be the one, and that she loves him. She is supposed to be intelligent, and we are made to believe that she really wants out of the business. Yet, she sleeps with him without telling him that she actually sleeps with men, and does kinky things, for money. I believe this is something that she should let him know. But yet another novel comes and goes, and still, he doesn't know.
There's also a bit too much Hollywood gossip. Everyone is screwing everyone else, and it starts to get a bit confusing. There are way too many characters for how short the novel is. Although it does continue on, I don't really care to read any more of the series. Nothing of importance happened in this novel, and I'm assuming the next book in the series will be the same: POINTLESS.
Do I recommend this novel? Well, if you have lots of extra time on your hands, go ahead and read it. However, if you try to find extra time to read because you enjoy reading - skip this book. It's a waste of time.
