The Cabo is by far the worst kayak on the market. My family bought one about 2 years ago and we have since sold it, and we are very glad to get rid of it, as it was clearly a waste of money.
PROS
1. Tons of gear space. This kayak has tons of cargo space, in fact, some of the most space of any ocean kayak on the market. This is one of the very few good things about this kayak though, as you will see.
2. Solo or tandem paddling. This kayak has 3 seats, the one in the middle is where you sit if you're paddling solo, the outer 2 are for tandem paddling.
3. Large weight limit. The weight limit on this kayak is 500-600 pounds, which is more than most by about 200 pounds.
CONS
1. Maneuverability. The maneuverability on this kayak is downright horrible. It took us a full 10 seconds to even begin to spin the kayak around, therefore, be careful in the surf.
2. Stability. Another reason to be careful in the surf is the horrible stability. This kayak flips in tiny waves.
3. Tracking. It is virtually impossible to keep this kayak going in a straight line. This is a reason that makes it bad for touring on flatwater.
4. Heavy. This kayak weighs 76 pounds, without ANY gear at all. That is extremely heavy, especially when you add gear.
5. High price. The price on the worst ocean kayak ever is the highest. We paid $900 for ours. That is outrageous, even for a well built kayak.
6. Durability. Our Cabo had dinks and dings and a bent hull and broken foot wells and the area around the handles look like my dog chewed on them. The durability of the Cabo is horrible.
Summary
Overall, this kayak is nowhere near worth the price, and I do not recommend it to anyone. If you are looking for a good solo or tandem ocean kayak, look into a Malibu Two. (See my review on Malibu Two)
