| SDF1084's Full Review: Ocean Kayak Scrambler Kayak |
The Scrambler is the bets solo ocean kayak currently on the market. It is excellent for anything from novices learning to paddle, to experts surfing in ocean waves and even whitewater. My family owns three, and we have been thoroughly satisfied with them.
PROS
1. All purpose. This kayak can be used for anything a kayaker could possible want it for. It is great for fishing, diving, surfing, flatwater touring, and even some whitewater.
2. Maneuverable. This kayak is by far one of the most maneuverable kayaks on the market, and you can turn it completely around in seconds, which is very important for ocean paddling.
3. Stable. This is also one of the most stable kayaks on the market, which makes it ideal for novices to learn to paddle on. It is very difficult to flip this kayak, even in broadside ocean swells and a few small breaking waves.
4. Tons of cargo space. This kayak has more cargo space that any other solo ocean kayak. It can hold a cooler, and all sorts of other equipment in the two roomy holds.
5. Durable. This kayak is very durable. We have had our three for 2 years and none of them show very much wear at all. They have held up to quite a bit of abuse.
CONS
1. Lack of speed. There is only one fault in the Scrambler, and that is lack of speed. It is very difficult to get this kayak up to a very quick pace at all. If you are looking for speed in an ocean kayak, do not buy a Scrambler.
Summary
Overall, this kayak is an excellent ocean kayak, and I recommend it to anyone not looking for speed.
