After a recent ummm... incident I'll call it with my old putter I decided to buy myself an Odyssey White #5 putter. I had heard all about these putters and reviews on this site rave about them so after trying it out in the shop I bought it.
The next Saturday I used it for the first time and I'm delighted to say that it lived up to my expectations.
Considering my previous putter was a more traditional shaped putter than the mallet style odyssey I now have I wasn't expecting to hole out putts from everywhere, I just wanted to putt solidly and I did.
The first thing I noticed and my favorite thing about the putter is the nice and soft yet still solid and not mushy feeling the putter gives you. This great feeling gives me more confidence.
Also the weighting in the putter is great, with all the weight being in the heel and the toe which really helps to keep the club face square to the target and with the putter being heavier than my old one it is easier to make a pendulum swing.
And the final thing about the putter which is very important to me is the looks. The putter looks great and when I stand over a club that I love the look of I feel confident and the Odyssey White Hot gives me that.
As long as I don't have another ummm... incident this putter will stay in my bag for a long time.
