My husband purchased this printer for me for Christmas 2000. The printer retails for about $299.00. Best money we ever spent! I have never seen such wonderful quality.
The setup of this printer was very easy. The directions were very simple and the software was very easy to install. The instructions even came with HUGE pictures to walk you through it. As a matter of fact, My 5 year old son was pointing out what went where according to the picture.
The printer came with a color and black printer cartridge. I was impressed since my last two printers did not come with them and they had to be bought at an extra charge.
The size is compact and it sits right on my desktop with room to spare. And the keyboard on the front of the unit is at a downward tilt so it easily accessible from my position in front of the monitor. I can see every key clearly.
Now, Let me tell you about quality! My gosh, it is the best I have ever seen. When you scan a normal 4 X 6 picture into this thing, It will print out looking EXACTLY like the real picture! The quality is amazing. This is also a very fast printer.
The fax function on this machine is very basic and easy to use. Type in the phone number and hit "Start Fax" and it is done. Faxes print out of this machine on plain paper. A major plus as far as saving money on expensive fax paper.
You have 2 choices on copies. You can load the paper you want to copy into the machine and you can choose black and white or color copy. Save that color ink if you don't HAVE to have a color copy.
Also, Your computer does not have to be on in order to fax or copy. It does if you are going to scan or print.
I have now recommended this machine to three of my friends. I am truly amazed. Hewlett Packard has really outdone themselves this time.
