I have been having a real time sorting out what my skin will respond to as my skin ages. After years of knowing what would and wouldn't work, I've been tossed back into the world of skin care products. Trying to find my way without developing hives, or drying my skin to the texture of sunbathed lizard has been an interesting experience. How did my skin respond to Olay Daily Facials Express? Read on to find out.
~The Product and It's Claims
I was first attracted to the package as I was browsing the skin care section at my favorite grocery store. Standing upright in cardboard base, the pretty blue foil bag (featuring wavy lines to give an image of moving water) has a resealable flap (which really does reseal nicely). Each package contains 30 - 6.5 in x 7.5 in texture cloths, which are moist enough to squeeze several drops of fluid from each. They are described as "wet cleansing cloths....with no water needed", and due to my skin, I knew to purchase the fragrance-free, sensitive skin version of this product.
The advertised attractions of Olay Daily Facials Express are:
~ this is easily portable,
~no water is needed,
~ effective enough to remove daily grime and grease & make-up,
~it will also condition your skin. This product is for any woman on the go, who appreciates the time savings and wants the ease of an effective product that fulfills more than one skin care function. Olay products are distributed by Procter & Gamble.
~Ingredients and Directions for Use
As I mentioned, I chose the sensitive skin version of this product.
~To Use
Open the resealable flap, and pull one moist textured cloth toward you, reseal the flap. Gently wipe the cleansing cloth around your face, neck, eyes, then discard. Use as you would a moist washcloth. Your skin will dry quickly, and feel refreshed from it's effective cleansing. There is no sudsing or foaming during use.
Each moist towel contains vitamin e and aloe plus what they describe as "Olay moisture". The cloths are white with smooth texture. The package describes this product as suitable for removing even water-proof mascara. The recommended use is for removal of dirt and make-up from around your neck, face and eyes. No cautions are listed, and it is made clear that they expect you to use this around your eyes.
~My Experience
I had just had a disastrous experience with another main-stream popular line of skin care products (the name shall remain anonymous...they should be ashamed to describe the product I tried as suitable for "sensitive skins". ) I had been left with flaking, dry, irritated skin. I bought these hoping for a quick, easy to use, no need to rinse, soothing cleanser. First use was refreshing, soothing, no irritation. I was so excited, I eagerly pulled out a moist cloth for my evening facial cleansing. Unfortunately, I found out within 2-3 days of twice daily use, that my skin was also reacting to this gentle cleanser. I had to stop using this and search again for a product to not only repair the dryness, but that would be usable on a daily basis. I found such a product, healed my skin, and decided to try these again. Why? Because this is an incredible product - for road trips, cross-country flights, for in the car if behind schedule and make-up not being applied. I wanted this product to work for me! I am pleased to say it does....for occasional once a day use, Olay Daily Facials Express works for me, and works very well. I highly recommend it, with the caution that you may also find this is not a product you can use on an every day basis.
