Pros: Cream based, reasonably priced, gentle, doesn't dry out my skin
Cons: Hard to find/discontinued, strong floral scent, not as scrubby as I like
I picked up a tube of Olay Intensives Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub from an outlet/discount type drugstore online not realizing it wasn't widely available at regular drugstores. I assume the product has been discontinued but it is still out there on the net and possibly at dollar stores and other drugstore type brick and mortar stores.
This scrub is not bad. It does a good job exfoliating gently but I am not a fan of the scent and I like a but more "scubbiness" in my scrubs.
Olay Intensives Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub comes in a simple 6 ounce tube with a flip top cap. The product is creamy with little blue beads that do the exfoliating. It doesn't lather and isn't meant as a foaming scrub. The scent, to me, is a strong floral one that I don't feel is needed in any facial product.
I love to try different facial and body scrubs so I used this as soon as it arrived. The scrub is creamy but has little blue bits in it. The directions say to use a dime sized amount of the scrub on your damp face and gently rub it in.
I did exactly that after cleansing with a gentle facial cleanser. The scrub did a decent job of exfoliating but it wasn't as scrubby as I usually like. I felt as though I was only scrubbing some but not enough. The product rinsed off fine and my skin didn't feel tight or irritated after use. It didn't feel oily or greasy either. It was neutral and ready for moisturizer.
I have used Olay Intensives Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub about eight times and I will use what I have left but won't go searching for it when it is gone. It isn't because it is a bad scrub but it just really isn't any better than a million drugstore scrubs out there. I also am not a fan of the stronger than usual floral/lotion scent that stays on my skin even after the product is rinsed off. I now use the scrub then wash my face with my cleanser to get rid of the scent. I have allergies and strong scents on or near my face will cause me to sneeze and my eyes to water.
In all, Olay Intensives Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub is a gentle cream based scrub that does exfoliate but doesn't seem to get deep down. It rinses off well and doesn't dry my skin out.
I purchased my tube of Olay Intensives Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub at outlet site that sells discontinued as well as hard to find personal products and cosmetics. I paid $6.99 for the tube. I have not seen this scrub in drugstores offline and I can't find it online except for on a handful of different small websites. It is available, you just have to search a bit.
I have used better and worse facial scrubs than Olay Intensives Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub. It is decent and doesn't dry out my skin but it doesn't leave my face glowing like some others I have used. I give the scrub 3 stars. It's good for sensitive skin if you can handle the scent.
