Pros: great idea, does moisturize to a degree, good for normal skin
Cons: goes quickly, not enough moisture for very dry skin.
The Bottom Line: I do like it. A neat product that does have some skin moisturizing benefits. I still feel the need for a regular lotion if you have dry/very dry skin.

| countrygyrl's Full Review: Olay Moisturinse In Shower Body Lotion |
I have to say I love to have soft, silky skin and I love it when my husband tells me I have soft, silky skin. So, needless to say, I like to try out and use lots of different lotions to keep soft, silky skin. In the summer its pretty easy as my skin is normal/dry, but in the winter I have a little more trouble- especially on my legs.
I've seen Olay Moisturinse in shower body lotion advertised and thought "neat". I saw on Suaves website that they have their own version of an in shower body lotion and knowing it would be cheaper than Olay, off to Target and Walmart I went. Well, no Suave version in either store and I couldn't resist any longer so I broke down and bought Olay.
Olay Moisturinse in shower body lotion comes in 2 "flavors" normal/dry skin and very dry skin. It also comes in 2 sizes. I opted for the smaller normal/dry 8.4 fl. oz. size which was $3.49 at Target.
Moisturinse comes in a white plastic squeeze bottle with a flip top lid. It stands on its lid for easy dispensing and the lid for the normal/dry skin version is pink, while the very dry skin version is purple.
You use this lotion in the shower after washing. You simply slather on the lotion and then rinse it off- just like hair conditioner.
Olay Moisturinse is a creamy white lotion that looks and feels like a good hair conditioner would. In the lotion sense it's thicker than what I would consider most body lotions to be- it's more of a body butter thickness.
It has a slight scent- kind of fresh and clean- neither fruity or flowery- very "Olay-like" ( I think Olay products have "that" scent just like Dove products have that "Dove" scent or Pantene has its "Pantene" scent) It is not overpowering or unpleasant and it does not linger after you dry off so it won't compete with any other fragrance you choose to wear.
INGREDIENTS- water, petroleum, glycerin, dimethicone, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, fragrance, cetyl hydroxethycellulose, steramidopropyl dimethylamine, dimeticonol, dmdm hydantoin, glutamic acid, disodium edta, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, phenoxyethanol, montmorillonite.
After washing I moved out of the direct shower and slathered on Olay Moisturinse- paying close attention to my legs. It smooths on very easy and clings very well( if you are not directly under the shower, if you are directly under the running shower the product will just wash away). You do not massage it into skin. Just smooth on and rinse off. Very simple.
After showering and drying off I noticed my legs were "better". They felt fairly smooth and soft and had a "moist" feeling, like I didn't dry off enough. My legs were much better than they would have with just plain cleansing but I still felt like I needed a regular lotion. I thought Moisturinse did a good job but I thought the whole point of using an "in shower body rinse" was to not need regular lotion. Hmmmm.
Perhaps the very dry skin formula would be better for me, although the ingredients are pretty much the same.
I like the idea of Moisturinse and in the summer it's probably all I would need, but it doesn't give quite the moisturizing effect I was hoping for for my dry parched winter skin. I am afraid that dry to very dry skin types may be a little dissapointed in this product. Those with normal skin may be jumping for joy, but its not enough for really dry skin.
Also with everyday use I could kill the 8.4 oz. bottle in less than a week- not very cost effective if you ask me. I can get a huge bottle of regular body lotion for the same or less than that.
I do like Olay Moisturinse, but I will wait for the Suave version to hit the shelves before repurchasing.
