| miller1611's Full Review: Olay Moisturinse In Shower Body Lotion |
Olay Moisturinse In Shower Body Lotion was in a gift pack at the hotel room we stayed in on New Years Eve. I guess I dont scour the beauty products isles because I thought this was a new product and I thought it was a neat concept. That is, until I started doing research to write this epinion and I found that this product has been around for awhile!
A Little Background
I am addicted to using baby oil after I shower. I turn the water off and before I dry off, I use baby oil all over. I am the big 35 now and I am super vain about getting and looking old, so I do anything that I can to keep my body hydrated and my skin looking younger than it is.
The Way Olay Moisturinse In Shower Body Lotion Works
After you wash, smooth on the product and rinse off like a conditioner. This product is meant to replace your ordinary lotion with a rinse-off body lotion. It works with the warmth and humidity of your shower. Olay claims that daily use will improve hydration of dry skin in 5 days.
Directions
Use daily on the body:
-Step 1-Cleanse with body wash or bar soap as usual, then rinse.
-Step 2-Dispense product into hand and smooth onto wet skin. Start with a quarter size amount for each area of the body (adjust as needed).
-Step 3-Rinse.
-Step 4-Pat dry with towel.
First Impressions
I was really impressed to find that I really didnt need any lotion after using this product. I didnt miss my baby oil at all and that is VERY unusual. My skin was hydrated, but I wouldnt say it was soft like after applying lotion. The scent was a nice subtle flowery smell that stays with you throughout the day. I usually do not like fragrance in anything, but this one is so nice I would probably use the product just for the smell that lingers.
When you use it the product beads up on your skin causing a milky film that rinses off very easily and quickly. It does take a good bit of the Olay Moisturinse to cover your body and to make you feel that it is working.
It is not greasy and it didnt leave any residue on the tub/shower or towel.
Overall Impressions
This is a nice product to supplement your overall skin care routine, but I would not use it alone to hydrate and soften my skin. It did live up to the claim of working as a lotion and probably better than most lotions. My skin didnt get dry a couple of hours after using it.
It didnt however improve my skin after five days of use, but I really wasnt looking for it to do that - I wanted it to work as a lotion and it did help. It helps solve dryness, but doesnt keep skin especially soft.
This is just an average product that I will probably buy in the future. I dont have to run out and get it right this minute, but there are a couple of things that will make me buy it - the smell and the way it really does work like a lotion.
